How many valedictorian do you have at your school...?
some school have only one student and others can go up to 15?
IS ANYONE IN HERE VALEDICTORIAN?

theres only one at my school....I'm salutatorian...
maybe if i didnt get 20 F's I couldve been #1 =(

haaaaaaaa, around 25. (you have to get straight a's, and it's not like it's easy.)

I would've been a valedictorian. I came from another country in my junior year so, I don't have a GPA for 9th and 10th grades. I think it really affected my chances of getting into Berkeley. I wish I had gotten here in my sophmore year. Anyways, I wonder how the UC's calculate my GPA since they only care about 10th and 11th grades.

i also came in from a foreing country (mexico!!!!) and got all my grades translated to te letter grade system (which i think sucks, the system i mean) and i got to be valecdictorian hahaha.

I think it depends on which country you are from. In your case, you came from Mexico. Most people know what or where that is. There are a lot of Mexicans here so, schools are familiar with your school system. But, I came from a country called Myanmar which is a small, third world country in Asia ruled by a military junta. So, I guess they think the grades I earned there are not reliable or something. Or maybe they simply are not familiar w/ our system and therefore decided to "s _ _ _ _" me over? Oh, how I hate my high school!

I think my school just has one...though last year we had two because they were like 0.000001 apart. In the newspaper though, the top ten from the schools in my district are counted as valedictorian. I'm not really sure about this valedictorian stuff, since I'm not even CLOSE to being part of that group.

MYANMAR!!!
RANGOON!!!

sorry.. i love my countries and capitals 0=[

but i guess its not the capital anymore?? =(

hobo, it is still the capital. They just changed the name from Rangoon to Yangon. If you pronounce it, they still sound the same, I suppose. You from there?

I don't think my school has a valedictorian, but if people want to speak at grad, they would have to prepare this essay by next week and present it. Then the judges pick the speaker.

at my school we usually have 2. it's basically whoever has 4.0 all 4 years. they dont neccessarily speak at grad kuz they are usually NOT good speakers. if they want to make a speech, they still have to try out.

we have eight valedictorians i think. kuz they all tied with straight A's all four years of high school. it's pretty crazy considering the fact that the year before we only had three valedictorians.

our school has a weighted rank, which means that an A in an honors/AP class is 5 points, whereas an A in a non-honors class is 4 points. This way, a student with a 4.0 GPA in all AP classes would be ranked higher than a student with a 4.0 GPA in all non-honors classes. There are actually several people in my class with 4.0 GPAs, but there are only two valedictorians.

The funny thing is that our rank is weighted, but our GPA is unweighted.

at least they weigh your rank. our gpa AND rank are unweighted.

well from what i read on wikipedia, your junta moved the capital in 2005 to Naypyidaw, Mandalay Division ????? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rangoon
what the heck is that??? Its so disappointing
And no, I'm not from there, I wish I was. I wish I wasn't so white and plain.

HEY!! me too!

umm...yeah. Our junta moved to a city called Pyinmana in Mandalay Division. You know, those people are stupid and insecure. There are rumors circulating that they do so because they are afraid Bush might "declare" a war on Myanmar to help the public rid of them. I, personally, find their theory rather absurd because there is no incentive for the U.S to declare a war on Myanmar with the sole intention of helping us get the democracy. haha. Why do you say it's so disappointing anyways?

becauuuuuse.....I've always known the capital as Rangoon...and now its not?? ;( The first thing that pops into my head when I hear myanmar is rangoon....whats going to pop into my head now.WHATS GOING TO POP INTO MY HEAD NOW?
Naypyidaw, Mandalay Division ????????????!!!! i can hardly say that.
you're so interesting vagan.

Thanks hobo. FYI, Naypyidaw simply means "palace" in Myanmar. So if you can't pronounce it, it doesn't really matter. As long as you know how to pronounce Pyin-ma-na, people will know you are talking about the capital city in Myanmar. Also, I heard that they are experiencing a lot of difficulties establishing a new capital city because it's really hard to get water there. So, no one likes the idea of Pyinmana being a new capital. In everyone's mind, Rangoon is still perceived as a capital city since nearly all the businesses are still there. That's why every time I hear Naypyidaw is in Mandalay Division, I go OH THAT'S A "SAFE HAVEN" FOR THOSE FOOLS and not the real capital city of Myanmar. It's just those capricious monkeys changing names on their whim.
