How much can a letter of Rec from a tenured Umich Professor help me?

A really good family friend wrote me a supplemental letter of recommendation. I've actually spent time with him, so he knows me fairly well and his letter will reflect positively. How much weight will it be given, if any at all? He was nice enough to write it for me, I hope it helps.

I’d say I am a borderline(leaning toward deferral/rejection) applicant.
1330 SATs
3.5 GPA
Fairly Good EC
Good Essays
Good Teacher Recs
Decent Councilor Rec

I had 2 recs from ex-Michigan students as well as a similar GPA/SAT score (you're a bit better than me in that regard) and I was deferred. Also was double legacy. I'm guessing you are borderline deferred/accepted. If you have good senior year grades, I wouldn't be surprised at all if you were accepted if in fact you were deferred.
