Hi there, thanks for answering.

I was just wondering how much the Senior Mid-Year reports weigh in the admissions decision? Not just for Columbia, but all top colleges?

I'm asking this because as of right now my GPA is a 3.92 UW and a 3.55 W on a 4.00 scale. However it looks like I'm going to get a B in AP AB Calc, and maybe in AP Chem (double period) which would bring my GPA down.

They will consider it as a factor, but if all your other grades are consistent it shouldn’t hurt you too much, but keep in mind the thousands of other kids applying will have straight As in all their classes, so make sure you find a way to stand out

I haven’t even sent in a midyear report yet… haha… Because of my schedule, I only have two grades right now (for woodshop and AP chem.). I’m gonna wait until I have more grades.

As for how much they look at it, I think they just want to make sure that you’re not slacking your senior year

As long as your A’s and B’s don’t turn to C’s and D’s, you won’t really be affected one way or another. Relax. Don’t stress over a tiny drop senior year, colleges know your schedule is harder with AP’s/college apps/late testing, etc. =)

Okay, thanks guys! I’m just stressing out
