How much do AP classes weigh at your school?

4,3,2,1,0

honors +1
AP +2

AP Classes get weighted umm… .5 on your GPA. *** IS THAT *****? =)

A’s are:
AP- 6
Honors-5
Reg-4

My AP Human Geography teacher weighed well over three hundred pounds.

5 for an A in AP/Honors, regardless of +/-.

really? Can you please explain how this works?

100 in regular=4.0
100 in cp=4.5
100 in honors=5.0
100 in AP=5.5
lolz

Our school’s system is arcane.
% grade - 58 = scaled grade (so 100%=42 and 58% or lower=0)
your scaled score gets:
+4 for honors or advanced
+8 for AP classes and honors pre-calc

Weighted scaled grades are then averaged together. I have about 33.5 overall, which puts me in the top 20%. Junior #1 (might become val) has a 40 or so cumulative, but the guy who had the highest grade last semester had a 42. You could theoretically get a 49 senior year but no one has even come near that.

Most kids don’t even know what a GPA is until junior year when the college counselors start to meet with groups of students.

AP and Pre-AP/Honors = 5.0
Normal = 4.0

No + or -

6 points for AP/Dual-Enrollment:
6 A
5 B
4 C
3 D

5 points for Honors:
5 A
4 B
3 C
2 D

4 Points for Regular
4 A
3 B
2 C
1 D

6.0(AP),5.0(H),4.0(S)-(1/8)(96-x) where x=number of points between 96 and your score, assuming your score is less than or equal to 96.

Oh, and normally no more than 2-4 people will typically earn a 96 or above in an honors class or AP class. (Although my school does not offer AP classes).
