Alright...I'm trying to get into the top schools (Harvard, Stanford, Cornell) blah blah blah...Pushing everything else aside, how much will my AP scores screw me over? How much are they really considered?

Scores to date:
World History: 4
Spanish: 5
Psychology: 3
English Language: 5
Chemistry: 4
US History: 3

Pushing everything else aside, I think that your scores are still decently respectable, considering that the ones you’ve posted are still all passing. Given, they’re not all 5’s, but I don’t think it’s worth stressing over too much.

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but significant EC’s and the personal statement are often more important than the scores themselves. Assuming that you’ve mostly taken these exams after a rigorous AP class, then you’ve probably put yourself through a challenging high school curriculum that universities will also be looking for.

They won’t screw you over. Sure, the 3’s may suggest some (just some) grade inflation if you got an A or A+. But, the fact that you got a 3 won’t imply as much grade inflation as a 1 or 2 would.

Basically, your scores are fine. Sure, they’re not 5’s, but admissions officers won’t say, “Oh, this person got 2 3’s. Reject.” Don’t worry!

Most schools don’t use your AP scores directly in considering your admission (I think Cornell might? Someone should verify that.) You have passed all your exams, and there is no reason they would have a negative impact.

^To find out about Cornell and their policy in regard to AP scores, you’d best find such information on their website. Even responses from honest-meaning posters can involve their personal logic or assumptions.

Most schools do not use AP scores in their admission criteria. It is worth checking the individual schools you are interested in though to find out their stance on the issue.

Colleges don’t look at your AP scores when determining admission (well, none that I know of do). So you’re fine. They may reference them, but they won’t use them to give you admission.
