how much do ap tests matter?

On the common ap, do you have to list your ap test scores, and if so, how do you send these scores out to the colleges?
Do the scores really matter that much?

I think they matter but they are not going to outweigh your SAT score. From what I understand, they mainly use them to make sure that there isn't any grade inflation going on in your school. If you getting 100's in AP Chem, but you get a 1 on the AP exam, they suspect grade inflation and not that you were having a bad day. Same goes the other way too. If you have an 80 average in a class but you also get a 5 on the AP exam, it could appear that your school has a very harsh grading system so they will consider that when reviewing your transcript.

Reporting AP test scores is optional, but you would certainly want to show them if you have good scores since they will only strengthen your application. For most schools, you just self-report the scores on your application; you don't need to send official score reports from the College Board. (You just send the official report to the school that you ultimately decide to attend in order to get credit or for course placement.)

What if you only have 2 AP scores and only got a 3 and a 4?...
I'm only applying to UCs though..

I doubt that they matter all that much...

shiomi,
what subjects were they in?
