How much do I have to pay for college based on my FAFSA info?

Hello  so I will be attending a UC school ( ~$32,300 a year ) and I just wanted to get an idea of how much I have to pay.
I just edited some info on my fafsa and re-submitted it so Idk when the school is going to update it but I just want to know beforehand.

my EFC: 003584
Pell Grant estimate : $2,250.00
Direct stafford loan estimate : $ 5,500.00

So basically, Do I have to pay around 26,000 a year? (including the loan since I have to pay back )

Are you eligible for the Calgrant? Did you get your application for Calgrant, and your fafsa initially complete prior to the March 2 deadline?

Yes I did! on my UC page it says that I’m eligible for $12,804 of cal grant but I think that will change cuz I had to update my FAFSA ( my family’s income tax was way lower - found out with the IRS Retrieval tool ) but basically excluding the cal grant, it’s around that money right?

Usually there are more financial aid available. Didn’t you get an aid letter from UC?

Like scholarships? No I didn’t get an email :c

When you updated your FAFSA, what was your new EFC? is it what you posted above?

If your new EFC is what you posted above, you’ll get the Pell Grant and the Cal Grant.

Have you gotten your aid pkg yet from your UC? Is it listed on your portal?

Do you have $26000? Did you apply to a financial safety?

OP to confirm your parents income TAX was way lower, so their adjusted income for FAFSA will be way higher, so your calgrant will be lower? Or are these numbers after the adjustment?

The numbers that I posted are after the adjustment of my family’s lower income tax.
And on my UC portal (it hasn’t been updated yet after my change on FAFSA) it says that
i have to pay $10,522 a year because I get $4,025 pell grant and $4,861 UCSD grant. but I’m assuming these will change because of my family’s lower income tax?
I’m also doing work study ($2,800) and I have no outside aid.
Total grants and scholarships I’m getting $21,690 but again, I’m assuming this will be lower after they update it…
cuz I don’t think I can pay around $20,000 a year…

Did you apply to an affordable school that you can commute to from home?

This is very maddening getting dribs and drabs of information at a time.

So you did get an aid award from UC? That is 21,690 in grants and scholarships? You will have to wait to see what UC adjusts aid to. Really you should have done all these adjustments a long time ago. The FAFSA SAR does not include money from UC, FAFSA only shows you federal money, you have to get the award from UC to see UC grants.

Your Pell changed from 4,025 to 2,250. UC may keep your award the same if you are still a Pell grant eligible. Usually you have to pay your EFC + a student loan + work study and sometimes summer earnings of 3k. So about 10k is normal. You will work summers and during school to get some of that.

Does the award include any loans yet? Will you be a freshman?
