F**K! I feel like I bombed the damn test. However, I can’t stay in this world that much longer… I’m going to give up. Just give up everything I lived for. It was nice knowing all of you.

@1618dz I heard that it was very hard. There may be a very generous curve, so don’t worry too much! There’s no use in stressing out until results are released.

@1618dz How many questions did you skip? How many TTCE? There wasn’t much organic chem. Like @Faultystart said.

Damn it @1618dz … don’t kill yourself! XD I’m here for ya buddy. We’ll work together and do something about this! XD

I skipped 4. I think 2-4 TTCE…I don’t know!!! I’m so sad man…My friend told me that 780 or under is bad. I’m screwed, aren’t I?

@1618dz Bad is very, very subjective. 780 isn’t bad at all! It’s the 91st percentile, higher than 91% of those who took the tests. Also keep in mind a 800 is 95 percentile. 750-780 alone is better than what most people who take the chem sat ii do.

Oh no! I’m not better than most of the test takers, so I might get 700-740! :frowning:

@1618dz Even then, that’s 67-80 percentile. the 50th percentile mark is around 630-640

700 to 740 is really good.

How good any particular score is depends upon what you want to use it for. A 700 is fine-69th percentile of the strongest students-since those are the only ones to take the SAT2s. If you are trying for the most competitive colleges or if you want the score to offset a grade you think suggests you didn’t learn chem, well then it is not as good.

I wish the scores would come out earlier so I wouldn’t have to face the terrible agony of waiting 2-3 WEEKS!

Should I cancel scores if I feel like I didn’t do above 760? Whatever, I will have to apply to bad colleges because those will be the only places that I could be accepted. With a possibly mediocre SAT II Chemistry among my scores, I may not even be able to get into 50% acceptance rate colleges… :frowning:

@161803 HOLY SH*T A 760 ISN’T BAD!! Would a 2280/2400 SAT be considered mediocre? Because that’s 760 for each section. What grade are you in?

Either way, don’t cancel your scores because you felt you did. I felt I did bad on the ACT, but I ended up with a 35.

Seriously, stop stressing so much about one score. It’s not worth the stress.

I’m a sophomore. I may have gotten 700-740. Now that’s bad. If so, then I’ll have to cancel. Everyone is telling me to cancel them. I just don’t want. BUT THAT’S WHY I’M SO F**KIN STRESSED!!!

Every score counts. Some colleges look at all scores. I might have even gotten lower than 700. What if?! Oh man!!! I won’t survive the last years of high school! I might have to end it all! :frowning: :frowning: :frowning:

@1618dz You’re a sophomore. You have at least a year until you start to think about applying to college. The key word about college admissions is this: “hollistic.” Numbers only mean so much to a certain point. GPA and ACT/SAT are so much more important than one SAT II score. Hell, your essay and extracurriculars mean more than one SAT II score. If you really did so poorly, you can always retake it if you really want to.

Edit: Also, I’ve gotten a 740 on my Math I. So what? I’m still applying to selective colleges AND my college counselor (who has worked in admissions for some Ivies) has assured me that the score’s fine.

Now I’m stressed about SAT General. My GPA isn’t good either. I’m only ranked around 19th in my school. It sucks if i want to get into a good college. Last time I took Practice SAT, I received a mediocre score of 1900 something. It wasn’t even the real thing. I F**Kin suck at taking these standardized tests.
Edit: My extracurriculars and sports are nothing as of now. If I want to live, I’ll have to rely on good test scores. Otherwise, I can’t continue living…P.S. Maybe I got a 700! My guidance counselor told me that 720 and lower is bad.

@1618dz The SAT may not be for you. Try a practice ACT test too! Also, practice SATs unless distributed by the CollegeBoard will ALWAYS be different than the real thing. You have time! You have at least this summer abd mors to practice for the ACT/SAT, and you have a year to work on your GPA. 1900 is at least 400 above the national average. Have you tried the new SAT practice tests? You may do better on that.

I’m not even in the top 10% of my class. My GPA is decent. There are plenty of good, non-super selective colleges. Where you go for grad school matters so much more than undergrad. You’re too young to be stressing about this.

@1618dz If you’re stressing out and so worried about this now, you may want to talk to a professional and try to get help. It’s not healthy to stress so much. Also, WAIT UNTIL YOUR SCORES COME OUT!!! You never
know how the curve can be and how you will score until you get your score.
