How much do late applications hurt?

<p>Not late as in past the deadline, but turning in your application on the DAY/within days of the deadline? Since colleges like U Michigan do rolling admissions and many other schools read the applications through section by section, how much harm does it do to apply late? Does it significantly hurt you?</p>

<p>It will hurt you at rolling admissions school, because you are competing for the few leftover spots. At non rolling schools, it has no bearing on your chances.</p>
