I didn’t realize until yesterday that my ED school requires all SAT tests to be sent when the official score is sent, not just the highest one that is self reported on the common app. Based off their website, I am 99% sure they accept self reported scores and don’t require the official score report unless you are accepted and going to attend. I’m nervous that I might be misreading that though and it might just be better to send the official score report now to make sure my application doesn’t get bumped to RD. I took the SAT in may of 2022 and got a 1430, and again in June and got a 1510. I’m worried they might be concerned about such a big score jump in a month (in reality I took the may SAT the day after my APUSH exam and bombed the reading section since i was exhausted from so much reading and writing the day before) or not like the 1430 because it is pretty low. Will they really care or think about it this much?
They won’t be
Universities that require all scores are a grand total of 2. Georgetown requires a score report as part of the application. CMU requires a score report or testing history validated by your HS. Neither accepts self reporting alone.
the school I’m applying ED to is not one of those, but when I went to send the official score report on college board, I unchecked the 1430 and got a pop up that said something like, are you sure you want to unsend this score? the college that you are sending your scores to requires it. i looked up a list online afterwords and found a decently long list of schools that require all SAT scores
I would think that the jump in scores would be a positive, not a concern.
I’m unaware of any US university other than what I listed requiring all scores. If the university website dies not say they require all scores, don’t lend credence to a 3rd party list that can be outdated or just wrong.
I believe you. But the CB is 3rd party, so I stand by my original post.
I think it’s probably because reading their guidelines again, they allow self reporting and don’t require the official score report until you are an admitted applicant attending the school. to add a layer of confusion lol im a recruited athlete who is guaranteed admission, so I was thinking I would just submit the official score report now, but the admissions office has only seen the 1510 when they did the pre read, so maybe I will just wait until I am actually accepted and then send
That’s a key piece of info you should have mentioned. Then no, they literally will not care about your lower score.
Don’t trust CB’s list, (or one of the many erroneous PrepScholar lists). CB says the same for Yale, just as a common example, and they explicitly say
Applicants who opt to include scores may choose to report scores from one exam date or multiple exam dates,
A few other small schools have popped up over the last couple of years, but CMU/Georgetown are the big ones. Always check a school’s website for the correct policy. Contact the school if it’s not specified.
