How much do subject tests matter?

I have an OK gpa, killer ACTs, but I'm really bugging about the SAT 2's. I have to take a science for Cornell COE. I took honors chem last fall, but can't remember stuff and even with studying my scores are totally weak on the chem subject test. I'm in AP Physics right now, but we haven't covered enough stuff for the physics subject test yet.

So in short, I don't think I'm gonna do well on the Chem SAT2. Will that severely effect my chances? I really haven't been able to find study time between ECs and a 100% AP courseload.

If you get above 750 your fine.

Above 700 your OK.

Above 650… meh.

Above 600… oh crap.

Below that… ****!

Okay good. I’m hoping that they see my 35 ACT science score and realize it’s not that I’m ■■■■■■■■ at science, I’m just bad at chem. Even though it’s just reading graphs on the ACT, but whatever. So like a 690-710 wouldn’t be the end of the world?

Believe me. Chem is easy if you take AP and honor class. Work on Princeton book, you ll get at least 700
