How much do the first semester grades of senior year matter?

My SAT score is 2160 and my ACT is 35.
I'm applying to some very competitive schools including ivies.
I used to get all A's until last year but this year, I have an 87 in AP Cal and a 79 in AP English...
I guess AP Cal isn't too bad considering that it's an ap class.
but Im really worried about my ap english grade... our teacher is known to grade harshly. There are only 7kids in my class and the highest average is a B. I'm not doing bad in class, but it is still a C :(
would this matter a lot???
I'm frustrated

One grade in one class is not going to make a difference in most cases - especially if it’s not of the D or F variety. A midterm 79 can easily become a B, so you’re probably fine.

If you’re applying to top schools, you always worry until you get an acceptance. Even about the punctuation on your essay - it’s part of the process. But no, a B 1st semester in AP Lang and/or Calc is not going to change the outcome.
