How much do the IB subjects I take influence on my college admission?

hey there! just wondering if anyone would mind giving a little help. Im about to pick my IB subjects, but im in quite a lot of confusion. i am batteling between choosing what i like, or what universities like. The subjects that i would like to choose the most are (in that order):
Psychology
Biology
Design and Technology
History
Chemistry

(apart from taking obligatory english, spanish and maths. so from the list above i have to choose 3 subjects only)

I was planning to choose the 1st three, cause those are the ones that i love. and my career options are psychology, sociology, anthropology or marketing and design. BUT. ive been asking around, and found out that most universities "love" history, chem and physics. is that true? and that people who make these subjects on higher level have more chances to entering universities. do you think it would be suicidal not to choose any natural science and do design and technology instead? would it crush my opportunities of getting into a good university?
PLEASE HELP! i have also reasearched in some webpages and found that some universities only care about the SAT score, but give 'credit' for higher level IB courses. but, what is credit?

thanks a lot :D:D:D
