I'm gettin' $8/hour, which is lower than practically anyone I know.

I live in MA, if that makes any difference.

About $15/hr which is almost triple minimum wage for Michigan teens.

Most people I know make the minimum, $5.91/hr.

I earned $6.15/hour (MD minimum wage) working full-time as a riding instructor at my stables' summer camp last year. It involved managing, entertaining, and supposedly teaching something to groups of 6- to 14-year-old kids on horses in 90-degree heat and 90% humidity. Compared to that $8/hour sounds generous, especially if it's air-conditioned and doesn't involve children...

On the other hand, I earned $10/hour babysitting (=doing nothing) and $15/hour tutoring in chemistry. I've since concluded that my job last summer was the worst job ever.

I make $7.00/hr plus perks... usually people around here get paid lower esp in food industry except hostesses at restaurants get around $7.00 to $7.50.

down in Texas min wage is $5.25 I think?

^ $5.15, we had to memorize which states had minimum wage the same as the National Minimum wage.

I get 20 dollars an hour, but I only work an hour a week...

(I give clarinet lessons and only have 2 students)

7$ an hour. I just got a pay raise!

$5 an hour + tips --> $10-12/hour
$15-30/hour or $100-500+/web site for other stuff
$6/month/person web hosting
= $$$

7.50 an hour...which is a lot more than most of my friends. And I get a raise this summer, too!

Isn't minimum wage in CA actually at 7.50? Insane, if true, but that's the cost of living there, I guess.

^^ Yup. And next January 1st it bumbs to $8. Luckies!

Wow, here in California the minimum wage is $7.50, and hiked up to $8 by January. But, then again, a 3 bed/2 bath, 1,200 sq. ft. home costs 1.4 million. So as a teenager w/ no living expenses and a job, it works out, but as an adult, it's prob not any better. But.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Teens.gif so it really doen't work out.

Plus, in southern California, we have a lot of immigrants who will work for $2 an hour under the table, so I have yet to actually find a job.

^^ Lol so true. My cousin lives out there trying to make it as an actor, right now he's doing commercials and music videos so nothing big. It's hard but he says the sad part is that it's the most stable career out there because they can't hire some random illegal immigrant to take your place.

$10/hr (then minus tax, so a little more than $9 really)- TELEMARKETING
$40/hr (in CAAAAASH whoooh ;))- teaching chinese

hahah telemarketing! do you do it from your home? what do you sell?

7$/hour - working at a retail store
20-30$/hour - teaching privates for tennis

Go tennis :D

yeah anything that involves tutoring/lessons/yardwork for neigbors usually pay a lot (and off the books!)

Well I work in an air-conditioned law firm and sometimes get to do useful things for the attorneys (besides the usual copying/scanning/idling/talking to the staff) so I guess it isn't as bad as I thought.

I know a guy who just sits around as a lifeguard at a nursing home, he gets $15/hr and $22.5/hr on weekends!

20 dollars per lawn (I don't have a ride on)

I hope to get another jump during the summer.

its better that you don't have a ride on those things always 1) get stuck in odd places or 2) break down.

how much does everyone here usually get for babysitting?

^I charge $10/hour.
