how much does a "W" matter on transcript for a liberal art non-major class?

hey,

i wanna drop a liberal art class. i am a biology major, so i am just taking to fulfill my liberal art requirement.

but i didn't do well on my first exam, so it's hard for me to get an A now.

i wanna drop this class, but i will have a "Withdraw" on my transciprt.

how much does it matter for med school admission? or should i work my ass off to try to get that A? but it's very hard...

thanks!!

I've heard multiple times that a few W's don't make a difference.

A W won't matter too much. Then again, it's okay to have a few B's as well. Your choice.

a few Ws do not matter too much.. try to get an A on that class the next time around though.

I've heard quite the opposite regarding W's. My advisor has always preached avoiding them almost at all costs, the rationale being that med schools will assume you were doing quite poorly in the class if you were willing to take the W on your transcript. A B would be, much, much preferred.
