I'm really confused. I was awarded a $43670 grant and albert said that the cost of attending was approx $66k. However nyu's website says $72,577 for CAS (http://www.nyu.edu/global/international-immigration-services/students/inbound-to-nyc/pre-arrival/estimatedexpenses.html). I am confused :s

Agreed - maybe they are including cost of flights, increased housing, cost of meals, etc? Last year’s numbers had same tuition as NYC campus, but room and board significantly higher abroad. Also confused. Congratulations on your grant!

Thanks.
I’m actually referring to the NYC campus btw. Turns out that you are right, the albert one didn’t mention any meal plan or anything.

I think they may have neglected some factors while tallying up the 66k.
And congrats on that massive grant!

Thanks. I guess I am going to mail them because I am really confused. Another of its pdf says $64k per year. I think that was for last year though. I just hope it’s $66k. I don’t think I’ll be able to afford $72k,

On Albert, it says 58k for NYUPoly. Is this misleading?

Hi that’s really amazing that you got such a generous grant from NYU! Can I ask where you are from? I’m from the UK and have asked to apply for financial aid and was hoping to get a figure in the range that you have been given but unfortunately all I have received so far is 1100 in CAS scholarship for being accepted to the Presidential Honors Scholars Program. I really would like to go to NYU and have appealed to them about my financial aid package so fingers crossed! Unfortunately, if I don’t get a substantial increase in financial aid then my dream of coming to NYU is no more! :(

I called them up and confirmed. Trust Albert.

@smez2507 I hope that you are able to attend nyu. Please view my stats/country/blablabla here: <a href=“**Official NYU RD Class of 2018 Decisions Thread** - New York University - College Confidential Forums”>http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/new-york-university/1631977-official-nyu-rd-class-of-2018-decisions-thread-p1.html (I’m finally attending btw)

@suryaslash This is seriously confusing. The OGS office asked me to prove that I had a little less than $74k so that they could issue me my visa. Guess we’ll have to update this thread in a year and post how much we really spent

I think the 74k is including transportation, and other living expenses such as clothing and health insurance. The 66/67k are only including room and board, fees, books, and tuition. I think I read somewhere that you need to prove the 74k for the I-20, though I am not sure and you definitely should call the financial department at NYU and ask them.
Good luck and I hope you can attend NYU!
