How much does rank matter on midyear report? If you get straight A’s, but your rank still goes down, how will colleges view that? How much weight does rank hold?

i have the same question, but kinda different....what if i get 2Bs and 5As (not too good) but it only drops my rank from 14th to 15th out of ~375?

Since when is 5As and 2Bs not too good? You guys need to chill out. I am sure you will be fine.

agree with jammin

they use your rank from midyear...so its just as important as your grades from the last three years i guess

When do highschools decide the final ranks (the one you graduate with), and when do they decide the valedictorian and salutorian?

"since when is 5As and 2Bs not too good?"

since when it dropped my GPA. thats like asking someone why theyre complaining when they get a 60000$ job after working a 100000$+ job for ten years. because 60000 is still a lot higher than average. when i mean good, i mean good for my standards.

well colleges use your rank from after 1st semester of senior year, but the school probably uses all your grades for the year to select valedictorian

Well, I have high standards too, Kosuke. I guess what I am saying is that there is no need for the side comments telling people that those grades aren't good. It doesnt matter at all. Those are the grades you got, so deal with it. I used to worry all the time, but I found that it doesn't solve anything. Focus on what you can control.
