What other people have received has nothing at all to do with you. Since all FA awarded by BC is need-based, the packages are based on each family’s unique financial situation. Therefore, any “listing” of the specific contents within the package is meaningless without the family’s financial data as well.

The financial aid they gave me was a complete joke. I don’t get why people who make over $50k more than my parents make (and also have only 1 sibling in college) are getting more than I am. (This info is according to posts on various sites, so they may not be completely accurate, but I don’t know why anyone would lie.) I don’t want to go into my personal financial info, but there are definitely circumstances that would normally guarentee more aid. I’m just hoping that they give me more financial aid next year when they see how depleted my savings are!

Maybe because I didn’t send in my FinAid papers by the EA FinAid deadline? I sent it in by the RD deadline though…still, it shouldn’t matter.
I appealed though I haven’t heard back from them yet.

I got 50540. 37300 in Boston College Scholarship, 3500 in the fed sub stafford loan, 5550 in the fed pell grant, 1500 in the fed perkins loan, 400 in the fed s.e.o.g., 2200 in fed work-study.

Bump. As stated above, Please include your efc and any other information that pertains to your financial aid package.

$47,150, same as GreatPerhaps except BC gave me $34,000
EFC was zero
I’m so happy :)

BUMP.

I still have some Financial Aid issues so it would help me A LOT if you posted how much the college has given you.

As stated above, Please include your efc and any other information that pertains to your financial aid package.

AzN:

worriedmom put it clearly and succinctly. Without knowing a families financial details, efc is worthless. EFC is a federal formula, but BC uses CSS Profile. Moreover, a finaid officer is allowed to make Professional Adjustments to that formula for extenuating circumstances, such as high medical bills, extended family living in the same house, etc.

Totally agree with worried mom and bluebayou.

I received a very generous financial package, but the details of it are nobody’s business but my own.

BC has only need-based FA. So you will likely find that BC is offering you pretty much what you got offered at any other major, need-based, FAFSA&CSS school.

Looking at FA awards without seeing the tax returns of the people who got them means nothing.
