Yes. =o

But that 21k is just for one year. You may recieve more or less the second year I think.

But that 21k is just for one year. You may recieve more or less the second year I think.

That’s how it works? I thought it was just flat 21k for one year.
So you get the aid every year for four years whether it’s 21k or not?

I got a $3000 grant from UCR, and i got everything else ‘covered’ in federal loans and federal grants (Cal grant-12,192; Pell Grant-5,645). On the statement it says that housing is like, 13,000, and it’s really more like 14,500 or more.

In total gift aid, which is what actually matters, i got about $21,500.
And i might get a $5,000 seperate scholarship from my city, would that be enough to cover my tuition and room?
I only want to take loans out if absolutely neccessary.

Also how does the work study program work?
Is the money given to me for personal expenses or does it go straight to pay my tuition and fees?
Reccomended for FTF?

Any clue guys?

@Dimas
I don’t think $26k is going to cover your room AND tuition. It will cover tuition, but with a room the total cost is around 32k. That’s what the financial aid package page says on Growl.

@Elouia
Well tuition is at like 13,500?
Room and board 14,00?
Adds up to 27,500 . So i need a little left no?
The 32k includes books, transportaion and personal things which is all my responsibility isnt it?.
Do you know how the work study program works? Is the money for me or goes to tuition?

@Dimas
Oh that’s true, I was counting the extra stuff. Sorry. >_<

If it comes out to be around $27, I think you’ll be able to afford it. =o
And yeah, books and stuff is your responsibility. You can find cheap books and such rather than buy the expensive ones~

I don’t know anything about the work study program right now, sorry. D: I THINK the money is wired to your account at UCR. I’m not sure if you can take it out and use it on other things, unless school related?

Haha i thought so its okay, i hope i can afford it myself. If anything maybe take out a 2k loan for assurance.
Well ill keep looking and asking, i need to decide my friday if i should accept the work study program >.<

Are you going to UCR? Im a Mech. Eng major :)

Hey guys :
For example if I get into SUNY Stony Brook, how much scholarship could they give? Any ideas?

so im like freaking out right now because my financial aid stuff has dissapeared…like someof the info on there is gone. i used to have the UCR gran tab work study tab and chancellors transfer scholarship, now those are gone! OMG!! is this because i submitted my statement of legal residence late?! UGH!!
