Everyone is so smart on this board, I'm wondering if it comes naturally and you barely do ne homework/studying or if like me you spend 3 + hours every night. I am so sick of doing it. AAAAAA!

It really depends. I do as much reading as possible over the weekend so during the week, I usually spend an hour on calc and physics combined, an hour of greek, and then maybe half an hour on whatever else. If I didn't do my reading ahead of time though, it'd add a good hour a night, I think.

it depends on what classes i have the next day (we drop two periods t/w/th) and where i am in the unit (end, paper or test coming up so more work on that end, beginning more actual hw problems/reading)

so in short...if i really did everything all the time...3+++ hrs, but tonight i was lazy and just did some assignments and i still managed to spend roughly 2 hrs. (although i have nights where i work from when i get home till past midnight non-stop)

and there are some units where i just don't work because it comes naturally (but then i end up screwing myself over on the test. so it all comes back to kick me in the butt one way or another) :p

i don't ever do hw and hardly study... and i make above average grades... if i actually applied myself... i could possibly be the next bill gates... but is that really saying much?... haha

I dedicate probably 4 hours to studying+homework sometimes more per day.

wow, i spend about 2 hours when i actually decide to study. i spend most of my time on physics and english, and chemistry when i have a lab due or a test. Government is a waste of a class and i just get calculus, so i don't study too much

Now (senior year with 2 AP classes) I probably get an hour a night. Last year (4 APs) it was more like two or three, depending on how much work I didover the weekend (I usually got ahead).

I almost always do homework only the day it is due--like in the morning before I have to walk to my stupid bus. It's not like I'm trying to slack, but I tend to concentrate better on homework that way.

Usually, I spend about half an hour averagely on calc homework. US homework takes me the longest; we have to read chapters and outline them, which takes forever. I wake up early for those days.

Basically, my other classes don't really have homework that I can't finish in class. I have loads of reading every night, but I can do this between errands.

The way to succeed is to make the best use of your time!

maybe an hour a night? but i don't do it, that's what school's for...a lot like effulgent

Hmmm... well I was kinda bad at homework since middle school, doing it for 4-6 hours over a spread time... then it caught up with me last quarter and my grades slipped to below my norm...
Now I do hw right when I get it, doing it accurately with speed (always practiced accuracy speed since little, just never applied it)
So on average I spend about 30 min - 1 hour now for four subjects... and 1.5 - 2 hours if I have heavy load of four subjects that include detailed reading... nifty eh?
I get more sleep now and focus better in class, so its easier to do hw.... and my mind is fresh and I have more time for other stuff lol like posting on here j/k

For three of my four years in high school it seemed like I spent 4 hours per night doing work. That included practicing a lot of stuff so I could get good at it. But my sophomore year was bad. I would work almost steadily from 3pm-11pm just about every night. When I look back on it I don't see why I had to spend so much time doing work.

Last night I did none because I had to work and had an interview. Most nights I spend about 2/3 hours.

hmmm, i spend about 1/2 hour, but thats because ive been trying to get with this girl.

yea homework is hard! thanks for your responses!

i procastinate ALOT, so depending on whether or not i have a huge essay, lab or project due the next day, my number of hours can flucuate from 1 hour to 6 hours. usually it probably only takes 3 hours but like i said i procastinate so it seems to take around 4-5.

I spend about an hour each for bio, calc everyday. English on average is about 2 hours, but lately is been about 3+ hours. But those classes are AP. Then physics is about 2 hours the day before a test. Gov is done in the beginning of class while the daily announcements are on. And I spend 45 min a day practicing for band. So that's like 4-5 hours on average. I would try to go ahead during the weekends but I have extracurricular work as well.

Oh, but in about 4 weeks I'll be a second semester senior and I don't plan on doing work except at school.

10-20 minutes a nite, hour at most if i have a project or essay due.... ranked top 1-2% 1520 on sats :)

3 or 4 hours. 6 ap classes

mattistotle, you are lucky... how can you do 20 minutes a nite how and be in top 1% of class. Thats pretty awsum.
