<p>If you are on a waitlist or alternate list, you will not hear from them until after
May 1st. Therefore you absolutely should accept and put a deposit down on another school by then. If UR offers you admission after May 1st, the deposit would be $600.</p>

<p>Just adding this post to confirm the information above. If you are WL you should deposit at another institution. WL decisions are not made until after May 1st; because the number of students admitted from the WL is relatively small, it would be a considerable risk to wait until after May 1st to deposit elsewhere.</p>
