So where will u attend?

half tuition presidential academic scholarship....

its ucla-vs-nyu-vs-gw now

i also got a 1/2 tuition scholarship. i still need to decide between emory, nyu, and gw. i basically ruled NYU out sinceethey only gave me 4k for one year, but emory is the better school... i'm not sure what to think but with that schoalrship i'll prob end up going to GW. i still don't know tho. i wonder what percentage of applicants receive the presidential scholarship b/c it seems like a TON of ppl got them.

i wasn't expecting any kind of scholarship. i guess they really want students to come and are trying to make it affordable.

did you guys who recieved scholarships indicate any need? or were they just given to you as a result of your credentials?

I got a 1/2 tuition SEAS scholarship. All it says is that I must stay in the Engineering school to receive the money. I'm pretty sure this was just a merit scholarship. I haven't gotten the financial aid letter yet, so I'll see if I get anything from that.

krocket606-It's deceptive to base your view of the number of merit scholarships on what is said on this board. The people on this board do not represent the average GW student. They represent the top 25% or so. Most people don't get scholarships at GW. There are SAT cutoffs, etc, depending on what school you applied to. So congratulations on your scholarship!

bklyn2cornell- definitely going to UVA...my parents are freaked out about the threat of terrorism and whatnot in D.C. and, welll...its UVA. lol but it's pretty cool to be able to say i got an academic scholarship somewhere, right?

You're not being unbelievably boa****l and arrogant, are you? Your tone was a joke, right? Are you attending? T

I got 1/2 tuituion to ESIA as well as honors program. I did not submitt FAFSA and obvioulsy showed no financial need.

Stats:
ACT:34
SAT:1480
GPA: 43.W
Rank:34/480
IB Diplomma

thanks researchmaven! i'm really excited about the scholarship and just from the stats up here, its very obvious that, in general, a certain type of student goes on CC (myself included).

:( I didn't get a presidential scholarship, but I'm happy for you guys that did. :)

Got enough to cover tuition and a little over 600 extra. All I have to pay is room and board. I'm Definitely going to GW.

Presidential Scholarship (half tuition) plus University Alumni Award for 11,100....total of 30,000 in pure grants (no loans!!!)

I got 19,000 Presidential and another 15,000 for something else.
