How much should you study for your first SAT test?

Should i review a little and first try to get a feel of how the SAT is going to be? Or study full out?

I didn’t study for my first attempt, however I wish I had, than I wouldn’t be studying to take it now

so I advice studying full out for your first SAT and attempt to attain your best possible score

Let’s say i start studying tomorrow hardcore throughout summer and school, do you think i can obtain a great score if i take the SAT in December? or should i take more time to study?

bumpppppppp

It’s hard to say. It definitely takes time to get yourself familiarized with the SAT’s format. The time it takes varies depending on the person, but it’s never to early to start studying.

You need to the mindset to do better, otherwise you’ll just be wasting your time if you personally don’t care that much.

Thats true, thanks a lot! I definitely want to get a high score, and try to improve it as much as i can.

I went full out, private tutors and everything. Im a B+ student and got a 1780, very dissapointed…i’m going to study more on my own for my next one.

Until your eyes bleed and your finger bones have deteriorated completely

Jamesford - “Until your eyes bleed and your finger bones have deteriorated completely”

doesn’t this typically happen at the midpoint? :P

Taking my first this October and just began studying a few weeks ago. Currently stuck at the 2150-2250 plateau :/

Depends from person to person :)

I would take a fall prep class/study in the fall and then do your first take in December or January. And don’t set too much value in practice tests scores, you often will perform very differently on the actual thing.

Great Advice, thanks!! I’m most likely going to take my first one is December, Second at the end of the year, and my last one senior year.
