How much sleep do you "good students" get?

Hmmm..

I usually get less than 4 hours a night. If I am lucky, I can get 6 hours. It's so bad. I always tell myself that "I'm going to sleep much earlier this time!" But I always end up breaking my promise.

I know --- that is really, really bad. I try SO hard to get more sleep. But... a lot of it is my fault. (I tend to put things off, haha)

My daily schedule:
1:30 - school gets out. I go and do some sort of minor after-school activity. (Student Council, Amnesty International, etc.)
2:00 - 5:00 = Jazz choir. Oh boy. This just eats up my schedule.
5:00 - 6:00 = Jazz band
6:00 - 6:30 = Dinner! Some fast food or whatnot. Gotta gobble everything up quickly.
6:30 - 8:30 or 9:30 (depends how close we are to performance) - Theater
9:30 - Get home
9:30 - 11:00 = Shower, eat a late dinner, PROCRASTINATE! Whooo!
11:00 pm - 3:00 am = Study, homework. (Gots to learn learn learn!)
3:00 - 6:00 am = Sleep!

This is how my schedule normally looks. On Mondays and Wednesdays, my schedule is a bit different, with different activities occupying the same slots.

But I think next year--- my senior year--- I am dropping jazz choir. I just can't do it! I've lost way too much weight and sleep.

Well, what about you guys? Am I the only one who gets about zero sleep? I am sure there are others out there like me. :-)

yep...

yep...

yep...

schedule looks about right to me... :-(

I get anywhere between 3 - 6 hours on week nights.

Usually 2-4 hours on avg. Junior year is killing me.

the good tv is on at night, so like 4 hours.

I get lots of sleep. I'm a fast worker, and I'm quite good at BSing busy work. I've always believed that when it comes to sleep or homework, sleep wins. My health is more important, and it also makes it easier to concentrate in class when I'm well-rested. It's been my experience that teachers don't really care that much about homework as long as I do well enough in the class to prove that I still understand the material.

PorkFriEdRicE-- Is it really necessary to have jazz choir rehearsal for 3 hours a day?

Your schedule is crazy (I'm a mom, by the way). How can you learn ANYTHING when you are so sleep deprived? Where are your parents, and what are they thinking letting you go on like this?

good students know how to NOT procrastinate and therefore get at least 7 hours of sleep per night

I got into northwestern (which assumes that I'm a decent student =)) and I sleep around 6 or 7 hours...
you should absolutely NOT procrastinate

Oh look, i'm posting this at 4:00AM :D

6 to 7 hours

Your school lets out at 1:30?! You're lucky. School for me starts at 7:30 but I get there an hour before, and lets out at around 3-4, depending on what day it is. Then sometimes I have softball training until 6 and I get home around 7... but I sleep around 10:30 or maybe earlier and wake up 5:30. The days before deadlines though I usually sleep around 5 hours. I study at school mostly so at home I'm usually at the computer or watching TV.

I graduated (just this March) one of the top students in my year, btw...and I sleep 7-9 hours a day. You should really sleep more. You're killing yourself. Try not to procrastinate.

"good students know how to NOT procrastinate and therefore get at least 7 hours of sleep per night"

Good students usually have a ton of things to do after school besides homework.

I sleep a solid 7-8 hours of weekdays. If I'm tired, I can't concentrate, and I get most of my information from focusing in class (not studying). I go to clubs for maybe 1-3 hours (later if I have to, and I don't have a lot of homework), and spend 3-6 hours on homework/studying. Every once in a while I find myself bs'ing things because I have to go out some afternoons.

i get about 6. It would be more like 7, if only I didn't have a horrible time getting to sleep (or, if I didn't wake up at five!)

I get 8-10 hours. my school work has yet to suffer.

I get 7-8 hours. I'm not the best student ever, but like Sibelius said, "my school work has yet to suffer."

4-6. It's not because I'm doing homework, though. It's just that I have stuff going on after school and I like to have down time to talk to friends and such when I get home. And THEN I start homework.

I get as much sleep as I need to function. Do what works for you, you know?

about 2-5 and sometimes I just don't sleep and look like a zombie the next day :D

I have too much housework!

Too much procrastination, so 5.5 hr to 6.5 hr! Well, I sleep for some more time while coming/going to school too :D
