How much snow do Brooklyn and Manhattan usually get?

like i said.

lol hopkinslax

2nd biggest snowstorm of all-time here in nyc. 24 inches with more on the way-- should end in a couple of hours.

Where did you get your data?
It obviously wasn't the National Weather Service or you would know that I wasn't making it up.
Nice try.

Second largest snowfall from a single storm in New York City. YAY. Now if only this had happened 24 hrs later... then maybe, just MAYBE, we'd get a day off.

From accuweather: "The intense bands of snow have moved east of the city itself, but as of 10:00 AM EST Central Park had recorded 22.8" of snow, just 3.6" shy of the all-time record of 26.4" set on December 26-27, 1947."

Heh, Long Island schools take the day off for like two inches of snow. -_-

thought it's the largest?

http://www.breitbart.com/news/2006/02/12/D8FNSF7G0.html

"A record-breaking storm buried sections of the Northeast under more than 2 feet of snow on Sunday, marooning thousands of air travelers and making even a walk to the corner store treacherous.

The National Weather Service said 26.9 inches of snow had fallen in Central Park, the most for a single storm since record-keeping started in 1869. The old record was 26.4 inches in December 1947. "

yep.. as of around 7 last night it was named the largest.

The question is, how long before it's all gone?

we got 2.5Ft in the bronx. My brother measured it on the roof of our buiding and at the park yesterday.

We got about 15 inches in this southern part of CT. My daughter's public school is closed today. The streets have a lot of ice underneath the snow.

I don't know who said 38"-45" but that's more like Boston. Central park on average gets 24.4" (According to Weatherbase.com).

Hehe. I laugh at those wimpy snow statistics...

You can never ever measure by yourself because of snow drifts, etc. Even if you measured in two spots, that still doesn't mean anything...

UB, I am not trying to constantly insult you, but as a person interested in weather, I feel that people should know the correct information. I remember seeing that you are in your mind 20's. Please act like it and don't bash me. A mature adult would welcome constructive criticism...

the snow is melting so quickly lol.

You can't really ask how much snow we get because some years you get like an inch and then the next year you get 10 feet. As the saying goes "If you don't like the weather in New England, wait a minute"

Too much. (stupid 10 character requirement)
