How much time do you need to study if you had:

AP Calc AB
AP Bio
APUSH
APES
Chem H
English H
Spanish 2

I'm just asking for an estimate (I'm in a fairly competitive school with people going into the top 10 colleges, teachers are moderately hard).

For people who have already been through AP/Honors classes, list the number of AP's/Honors classes you have taken for a certain year and how much studying you had to do (hours/day or week). What I mean by studying is everything that you need to do (homework, review, extra practice) to get an A or B in the classes. Also, post the grades that you've gotten beside the hours.

This (junior) year, I have the following classes:
AP U.S.
Pre-Calc Acc (aka H)
Japanese 1
Spanish Regents (NY state test)
Band
AP Statistics
AP Chem
Phys. Ed. (req.)
AP English Language

Most of my homework came from AP Chem and AP U.S. On average, I spent about 3-5 hours a day on those subjects alone. Including practice for band, I could have anywhere from 1-2 hours a day for my other subjects. But unfortunately, I don't know the raw amount of time I spend on my homework... I do most it while watching TV or on the computer and I get distracted easily. ^^;;

i also did a lot of work distracted, skippe d soem of it- plus we had 3 apush teachres cuz the first one got sick

im guessing i spent about 3 hours a week on it.. but im a perfect example of "how to love school but basically ignore most of US work and still get a 95" lol

Tough, tough. Well, my teachers are very bipolar this year (except chem-she's consistenly crazy)...they give us no work for about 5 weeks, then 2 papers, a project, and a test in a week, but I'll try to give you a good estimate.

--Chem H-2-3 hours on homework/day + 1 hour+/day week leading up to test
--Math 2H-20-45 mins depending on topic + 10 mins/day two days before test
--Global 10H-45 mins/night outlining + 15 mins/day four days before test
--English 10H-0 mins/day for most of year, then 3 hours+/day/week every few months
--Latin 2H: 5 mins/day, 30 mins/day three days before test (depending on concept...like right now, I'm studying like 29320380 hours, but I don't get it; this is just an estimate)
--Theology 10-30-40 mins/week, 30-40 mins day before test

--Music 10H-0 mins/week, 10 mins day of test

about 4 hours/night, but I do like 1-2 hours in school

That's basically it--I wouldn't prepare so much usually for tests, but my teachers don't believe in the "spirit of the answer", and want the whole thing exactly (including all "the"s) and no synonyms can be used.

AP Calc AB- 30 minutes a day
AP Bio- 45 minutes a day
APUSH- 45 minutes a day
APES- 30 minutes a day
Chem H- 20 minutes a day
English H- 45 minutes
Spanish 2- 20 minutes

I've had all of those classes, except I had Italian 2 instead of Spanish.

i can tell you that you will have no time for sports.

i managed to do service & clubs,
with these schedules and i basically came home and did work until i went to sleep and it wouldnever end. but i want to say that i did slack a bit for my senior year. and each day, the time for completing assignments and preparing for the next day differed, so i can't really write down the time for each classes. but no doubt, i worked (came home at 3, went to sleep at 10, take all the other stuff out, and i did about 5 hrs.)

junior year:
ap lang
ap calc ab
biology
chemistry
ap microecon
ap psych
spanish 2

senior year:
ap lit
ap stat
ap bio
human anatomy
physics
ap us gov
alaska studies

all a's. though some classes were very close to being b's. if you're taking any classes online (perhaps APEX or blackboard, you'll have more work than a classroom/teacher setting guaranteed).

But honestly, to be competing with such competitive students in your school, it really depends on what you want. like is this for a rank spot?? or for college acceptance?? b/c i'm not bragging or anything, but i got the valedictorian spot with these and got into a non-ivy league college on a scholarship.

Oh, I forgot to leave my grades (1st post).

AP U.S. - 98.75 (not including final)
Pre-Calc Acc - 99 (not including 4th MP or final)
Japanese 1 - 100 (not including final)
Spanish R - 99.3 (not including final or 4th MP)
Band - 100
AP Statistics - 99.6
AP Chem - 96.5 (not including 4th MP)
Phys. Ed. (req.) - PASS
AP English Language - 96.7 (not including final or 4th MP)

I take most of the hardest classes at my school and spend maybe 10 minutes a week doing homework/studying.
Then again I have friends in the same classes spending hours every night...
depends on the person
