They put me on the third floor this year... I don't want to have to walk down four floors (assuming the microwave is in the basement everywhere) every time I'm hungry... I know they randomly search rooms, but are they allowed to look in boxes and stuff?

They’re not allowed to open or uncover anything. Just cover it with a blanket and don’t start any fires =)

University regulations do not allow residential staff to search closets and other enclosed spaces.

However, keep in mind, University police and certain Campus Residences personnel have the authority to search all areas. However, rarely if never will they or UPD get involved in such trivial matters.

I was more asking about penalties, but I guess that info might not be needed <__<

Thanks

There is a three-strike rule in place for residential facilities. You will be warned and occasionally scheduled for an hearing. After three disciplinary citations, your housing contract is terminated.

Well, I think I’ll keep the microwave until I inevitably forget to put it away and get one strike… then I’ll save those last two strikes for something I need <__<
