How much will AP Euro and AP World overlap?

Hello, I will be a sophomore this coming fall and have signed up for AP European History and AP World History. The AP World class is notoriously easy at my school but hardly anyone takes Euro. I was just wondering the difficulty of both of the exams and how much will they overlap?

Less than 20% of the AP World exam consists of European history. So it does overlap a little bit, but not as much as one might think.

Very detailed information is available for each course on the College Board website. Here is the one for AP World

A few days ago I took the AP World exam after a whole year of taking AP Euro and I would say that it was the easiest ap exam I’ve ever taken. If you took euro, take a few past exams, and self study the other non-euro info you’d probably do fine. The essays are completely different from euro so you might have to practice writing those.

Quite a bit in my experience.

Almost every time you touch post-1453 Europe they will overlap completely which is really nice because it means no work for a unit.

Also, Euro covers more world-scale than you’d think for colonialism and WWII and even the Cold War, so there’s more overlap there too.
