Okay so APUSH is the hardest AP class in my school and I'm already in 5 other AP classes (I"m a Junior). I'm number 4 in my class and pretty much 1-10 are taking 6 AP's. How detrimental would it be if I dropped APUSH? The school year hasn't started yet.

I don’t think it will have too much of a negative effect on you, especially if you are already taking 5 AP classes. If you don’t think you will get an A, then taking normal history and getting an A would be equivalent in grades and would be less work:) Do whatever you believe you have time for and what will have the best outcome on your GPA.

I would suggest you take APUSH . Challenge your self. Is that not why you are ranked 4th.

APUSH is not terrible. You should wait and see. Take it and if it gets too hard drop out.

Dropping down to regular would definitely be less harmful than being overwhelmed and having your grades suffer. Is it possible to drop down to regular midway through the semester? If so, you could always take APUSH, then drop down if you can’t handle the workload.

If you don’t think you’re up to it, then drop down. Don’t be pressured because the other top-ranked people in your class are taking 6 APs, unless you are that attached to your rank.

really not a hard class. ap exam for that class was quite easy, same goes for SAT II. go for it!
