How often do UC's give scholarships or a full ride?

How can I get a maybe $5000 per year scholarship or a full ride at any UC’s. I just want to know what kind of scores and grades do I need to have if I wanted a part scholarship to maybe a UC Irvine or so.
Those who got scholarship’s what do I need to do to get a scholarship or full ride?

I got some Chancellor's scholarships for both UCR and UCI (each $5000). My wGPA was 3.65 (when I applied) and 2080 (650/780/650) Reasoning SAT.

I think I was the bare minimum for receiving those scholarships--everyone else in my school who received at least one had a much higher GPA and right around my SAT score (if not more).

most of the people i know who got regent's or chancellor's at uci/ucsb had around a 4.1 or above uc gpa and at least a 2100 sat. a friend who got chancellor's at ucr, however, only had a 3.5 gpa and 2140 sat.

also, the only way to get a full ride is to get regent's (i'm not sure about whether this applies to chancellor's as well) and have a 0 efc, since in addition to the $9k or $6k amount, your full need gets covered as well. for example, my efc is 0 so i got $23k from ucsb and $22k from uci.

You can get the Regents and that will meet your financial need (I think Chancellors does the same). Also, some schools just have a few full-rides (like UCSD Jacob's School of Engineering).

To get the Regents Scholarship, you generally have to be in the top 1% of applicants, so your GPA/SAT should be pretty high.

Hey I'm going to UCSD my stats:2140 SAT1,720,700 SAT2 PHY,MATH respectively.......but i didnt get a full ride at UCSD????? :(......my ec's were great, goa was gud 2[i studied abroad]......was i not qualified enough to get a full ride? or what? Also it was ambigous wether or not I was a CA resident but I have been classified as a Ca resident by the registrar just recently(would that play a role in me not getting those awards?)
Also can i apply /ask for my case to be reviewed by Jacob's school of engr for the ful ride scholarship at this point of time?can i get it in the second year if my grades are good?
any help would be really appreciated ! :)

cooladu: Well I think the Jacobs School only awards a few of these scholarships to students (I'm talking less than 10). There are a few people on CC who have gotten it, and these students are exceptional (they got accepted to schools like Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Stanford, etc.). Were you a Regents Scholar? I got the Regents Scholarship with 2270 SAT I, 790 Math IIC, and 730 Physics. Your stats should put you pretty close...

My hs weighted gpa was 3.3 with a 1300 old SAT. i was offered a chancellor schalorship from UCR.

I didn't have $0 efc but I still got regents at UCR... but it was because I applied early to the Highlander Scholars Program early (in June or July of last year I think) I got a letter telling me that I had guaranteed admittance and didn't have to go through more application or something. It would've been a FABULOUS deal if I would've taken it. So, if you can see yourself happy there, maybe look into UCR

It depends on a lot of things.

You can't EXPECT a scholarship. All of the people who apply are well qualified. They only select the top applicants for Regents. It also depends on the school, obviously. The top students at UCR might be 3.8s while the top students at UCLA are 4.0s.

With that said, i'm a community college transfer to UCSB and got awarded the Regents. However, I wasn't offered the scholarship from the other UCs.
I think it's like $6,000/year which is awesome because now i can actually afford to go to school.
