<p>Mainly because I don’t know them well. They’re usually people I know about, but have never talked to in my entire life. A couple others, because they were generally being annoying.</p>

<p>I defriended a bunch of teachers at my school because most of the content in my profile is swearing.</p>

<p>^^ My AP Lit teacher friended out entire class on FB the day she got the schedule. It’s pretty awkward as she’s a, uh, partier and is a compulsive facebook updater/commenter. She also sent assignments due the next day over FB.</p>
<p>Needless to say I defriended her the day I got out of that class. I’ve never been defriended to my knowledge, though.</p>
<p>Why? I’m sure that a teacher like that would be a nice fb friend. Unlike those who gets *<em>**ed off when they see the words </em> or **** or your status.</p>
<p>It was a good predictor of her mood the next day. I suppose it was better, but I think it was completely unprofessional…she talked the same way in class too. And she talked about the stuff she updated on FB. Nonetheless, she was probably my best English teacher.</p>

<p>Never been defriended and never defriended anyone. I’m pretty choosy when it comes to the people I’ll befriend on Facebook but I know people who friend anyone and everyone - even if they barely know them - and then these are the same people who defriend the sort-of-acquaintances later on. </p>
<p>Were the people who defriended you actual friends of yours or random people you met once or friends of friends or that sort of thing?</p>
<p>Yeah, I’m usually unselective when it comes to friending and accepting friend requests, so many unfriendings are from people I never really knew in the first place. But a VERY large percent of unfriendings also come from people who used to very friendly to me (even possibly friends, depending on how “friend” is defined) several years ago.</p>
<p>Are you notified when someone defriends you?</p>
<p>Someone defriended me once but it was because that person was interested in my ex and added my ex as a friend.

i never notice such things but i’ve only been de-friended once or twice in all my years of fb i believe…and oh they were paranoid ccers LOL. for the most part i usually de-friend people…but thats if i simply don’t like them.</p>
