See above question^...like once a week, once a month...?

just thinking the same thing…

I did mine every two weeks. Then again, I brought “just enough” clothes to wear and repeat for 2 weeks, so it really depends on how much clothes you bring. I know some people who did it every week.

I plan on bringing more than 2 weeks of clothes for the most part, but there may be some favorite things I’d have to wash more often, if I want to wear them.

Plans: probably 5-7 pairs of jeans, 8-10 hoodies/sweatshirts, 15-20ish each long & short sleeve tshirts/henleys, etc., 10ish pairs of shorts, 8-10 capris/bermudas, 2-3 dress pants, a few skirts, 5ish causal/sweatpants, a lot of different colors of camis/tanks, and the like of every other major clothing item…just an example of what I’m hoping to fit in my dorm…plus shoes! My dad thinks if I bring 12 or so pairs of shoes that’s enough…there’s NO WAY I’m going to be able to narrow down my shoes to 12 favorites!!! Picking shoes is going to be harder than clothes, actually.

Do a lot of college students really do that, where they plan out enough clothes for 2 or 3 weeks, and have pre-determined outfits, and then just wash and repeat the next 2 or 3 week cycle?

I wash clothes every week, just so my laundry bag doesn’t get too full.

My 3 post college kids report that most people do their laundry once a week .

12 shoes… i will probably bring 3 at most… sandals everyday shoes and basketball shoes maybe just 2.

Whenever you run out of clothes (particularly underwear). I tried to have a set time, but my schedule ended up being a little sporadic so I ended up doing it whenever I had the time.

My plan is: 5-8 pairs of ballet flats, 4 pairs of my Coach tennis shoes, 1 pair of what my mom calls “regular” tennis shoes, 4-6 flips flops, 3-5 other cute summer sandals, 3 pairs of Uggs, 2-3 pairs of other non-Ugg winter warm shoes, and a few pairs of dressy shoes. That’s what I’ve figured out right now. I like cute shoes…

See, I went to a private high school where we had to wear uniforms. I’ve actually worn uniforms to school since 1st grade. In HS, shoes were important to have cute stuff for, since we couldn’t do much about the outfit, except adding a few accessories. 80ish% of the girls at my high school owned Coach or Uggs, or some other designer shoes. I just have a few of those; the rest are regular/non-designer shoes.

I guess because you are a girl you have a lot of shoes. Lol.

Yeah, I’m thinking it’s good to bring more that you think you’ll need of those, and socks, because both of those are kind of disgusting to run out of.

Yeah, if you’re a boy, then 2-5 pairs is probably normal! Girls do tend to have more shoes.

I smell a ■■■■■. That or a strong stereotype.

You might want to bring one of those canvas shoe racks that you hang in the closet, otherwise there might not be much floor space for all those shoes. :)

not ■■■■■■■■ if thats what you think lol

Twelve shoes dayum. Boat shoes, trainers and boots for me.

You have too many shoes. Seriously.

I do laundry every week to two weeks depending on whether I am in season for sports. That is a lot of shoes. Even if you manage to wear all of them throughout the semester, where will you store them all?

and:

I plan on getting one of those over-the-door shoe racks for the closet, which holds about 12 pairs I think, and then cramming the rest of them into the closet, somehow.

I like cute shoes. Read the earlier post about my high school.

You have too many shoes for the room you’re going to have. Just saying. No matter what you get. Also if you plan on going to house parties, there’s so much beer on the floor that you’ll ruin them. So bring less nice shoes and more crappy shoes, at least a pair.
