I had a 3.5 in high school and I have ambitions of going to UCB, UCSB, and USC.

UC Berkeley does not accept transfer students from community colleges, though Cal and UCB do.

but cal UCB are Berkeley

That wasn’t even funny

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using CC

I thought it was ever so slightly funny. :D

??? I don’t get it lol

It’s very possible, but you will need to do quite well in your CC if your hoping to transfer to Cal.

Here are the transfer admission stats from 2012 (the year I got in).

http://students.berkeley.edu/files/admissions/12626_5.info_transadm.pdf

Range of GPAs was 3.64-4.0 and around 24% (3400/15800) of applicants gained admission either in the Fall or Spring.

haha reminds me of the guy that got accepted to Berkeley but was sad that he didn’t get in at Cal.

Just to clear up the confusion, UCB, Berkeley and Cal are the same school. But most people call it Cal (because it was the first University of
Cal
ifornia). You’ll look like a noob if you call it anything else.

@mermaker

I call Cal Berkeley, or UC Berkeley sometimes and I don’t believe people think I’m “noob”. The whole naming thing is just a myth from my experience, many students here just say Berkeley.

Now I’ll give you an example of a real “noob”. Last summer before transferring to Berkeley I took a class and wore my hoodie that just said “Cal” and a lot of people thought I was transferring to a cal state school… lol

Also in my previous post it should say 3800/15800 not 3400. But who cares about spring transfers anyway? Lol jk

@kamelred thank you for clearing that up ha. I went to cal last December and when my friend posted a picture of us with the title “at UCB”, some of my friends that go to Berkeley made fun of us because supposedly no one calls it UCB. hahah
