How predictable are Gallatin admissions?

I've heard a variety of things about Gallatin: that it's one of the hardest schools to get into, that they value writing ability more than test scores, that it has the smallest number of applicants besides Dental and Nursing... Unlike CAS, which seems to have the most number-based admissions criteria, I can't really predict whether or not I'll be admitted to Gallatin. Anyone know otherwise?

I think Gallatin admissions are the most unpredictable. Before I applied, I thought it would be really hard and almost considered applying for Steinhardt or CAS. I took the risk with Gallatin and got in.
I've never considered myself as a strong writer, but apparently they liked my essays...or maybe my EC's.
Who really knows..

I was admitted to Gallatin as well. My scores are definitely nothing to drool over, but I did feel really good about my essays.

I bet one's writing ability is heavily weighted in admissions. I'm positive my essays were the strongest aspects of my application, and I managed to get in with not so hot test scores. Don't fret - if you feel good about your essays, you're likely a shoe-in!
