<p>How well known and respeceted is Santa Clara University in the career world, specifically engineering?</p>
<p>Inside the S.F. Bay Area, SCU is respected but has to compete with Berkeley and Stanford for any prestige or academic ranking. Outside of the bay area, it may not be very well known. </p>
<p>Bay Area companies will actively recruit SCU students but I don't know about companies elsewhere.</p>

<p>The SCU website, which seems to be painfully slow and unreliable tonight, indicates that the School of Engineering is ranked 14th by US News. I was looking for engineering-related career placement data but didn't find anything.</p>
<p>SCU's engineering is ranked 14th among the non-doctoral universities, that is the minor league.</p>
