How prevalent is smoking in college?

I know this thread is totally stupid, but do colleges have a lot of student who smoke. No, not necessarily pot, but cigarettes.

More than in the "real world," but still not too many.

I'd say it depends on where you go. Schools that are located in areas that don't view smoking in as harsh a light as others (i.e North Carolina vs. California) probably have more smokers per capita then those in states with a greater anti-smoking movement. College students in general probably smoke less if only because most students at upper level universities/colleges have been exposed to the hard data on smoking for so long that many are well aware of the health costs associated with it and therefore choose not to partake.

In my experience, smoking is really common at college.

for pot, a lot of people do it.

i mean, c'mon, smoking pot is better than drinking! :)

i think cigarettes are more prevalent, since everyone around you can legally purchase it

I think pot usage is pretty big, which is pretty cool because I think its better than drinking safety-wise...but thats not your question, is it

When I visited Dart, some kids were smoking these huge cigars - that was pretty sweet

Both disgust me. yuckkkk

I live literally across the street from a small college (eh, it sucks) and I remember there were like layers of cig butts EVERYWHERE.

Heck, I don't mind smoking at all, but HELLO!

I'd say around here for college students it's pretty obvious.
