Can it be done, graduate in four years?
Graduating in 4 years would require a student to take at least 15 units per semester. It’s definitely doable and is done all the time, but every person is different. For example, one student might score lower on the WPA (the required writing assessment) and have to take additional pre-req courses to be up to par on analytical writing abilities which could set them back…or a student has to work while in school and is not able to take the full 15 unit work load per semester. It really just depends on the student and the student’s situation.
Very doable, especially if you have AP credit. My younger son got out of 5 classes with his AP credit, so he is a semester ahead in units. If he stays on track, he could potentially graduate in 3 1/2 years. He is considering doing study abroad and a possible minor which puts him back at 4 years.
I’m doing it, started at a CC though. I did take 3 summer classes, and average 15 units/ semester. My last semester of CC, I took 19, I had a lot of math to get to transfer level. Now, I need 2 major classes, 3 make electives, and a handful of upper division electives, and I’ll be done. It also depends on your major. I need 120 units to graduate, my husband is an Electrical Engineering major and I think he needs like 170. He’ll be graduating at 5 years, with summer class.
