Pre-Med

I hear the 4 year graduation rate is low from this school, I want to complete my undergrad for all my pre-med requisites in 4 years. Is this possible? Why is it such a low 4-year grad rate?

My son (a current Freshman) came into SDSU with 38 units of credit from AP classes. He is already at Sophomore standing and if he stays on schedule should graduate a semester early. Reasons for lower 4-year graduation rates:

  1. Changing majors
  2. Transfers which may need to retake some classes
  3. Students needing to work to pay for college and are unable to take a full load
  4. Some drop outs
  5. Unable to get required classes
  6. Students requiring Remedial Math or English classes before taking major classes will add additional semester(s)

SDSU’s graduation rate has been increasing steadily for the last 6 years. If you follow your MAP plan for your major, you should stay on track and complete your classes on time. It is very important to check with your major advisor each semester.
