Instacart prices tend to be higher than regular Costco prices and selection is much more limited in Honolulu, making it much less attractive to us.
Costco is only 5 minute drive from our home—10 with traffic, so we just go there when the whim strikes. There is no scan &go on our app for our Honolulu store.
@socalmom007 my mistake! Sams Club delivers also but we have never had groceries delivered, from there or anywhere. I’m too picky about certain things to let someone else shop for me, but I know it can really come in handy for those who need it (or are not fussy like me!).
I’ve notice some items say something to the effect that on-line prices may be higher than in-store. Or maybe it was in-warehouse prices may be lower. Either way I never paid much attention until I was looking at golf balls and they were about $7 cheaper in the store than on-line.
With the Costco/instacart order, it’s all in store prices.
Hmmm, for ours in HI, selection is MUCH smaller and prices are way higher for Costco Instacart.
I guess like politics, all shopping is local - even when it’s not.

We live a short distance from Costco, so it’s not a big deal to head over there. And though the lines have gotten longer during the pandemic, they’re still nothing like the lines at the Sam’s Clubs I used to go to before our town got a Costco.
With respect to cleaning…my spouse and I each do our own laundry, and take turns on who does the kid’s laundry (with the kid’s involvement). My spouse and the kid have a much higher threshold for mess than I do, so I do more of the straightening up, but I’ve come to acknowledge that I’m in a losing battle. I haven’t given up completely, but I’ve learned to let go A LOT (and nobody ever accused me of being a clean freak prior to our marriage). I like guests coming over, because the others see a need to clean. And I’m thinking of asking for a cleaning service to come in as a birthday present to me; even just once a month would be heavenly. But then there would be the matter of getting the rest of the family to straighten things up enough for the cleaner to clean…
I love the Sam’s scan and go app. I usually park my cart in an empty area near the exit and then scan all the items at once when I’m done shopping so I don’t need to edit the virtual cart. During Covid our Sam’s added a bunch of self checkout stations but the lines are still pretty long.
