@dodgersmom THANK YOU FOR POSTIG THE ST MARKS ONE!!! im not applying there, but it was starting to bug me how after 9 pages nobody knew it

Above, me 2! I’m applying there, and I’m confused why nobody knows about the notification date of SMS !
BTW @dodgersmom Thx so much!

Does anyone know if the online notifications are posted midnight Eastern Time or midnight all time zones?

Hi, I was wondering if rejection or waitlist letters got physical mail or if we just receive emails. Does anyone know?

Sorry, i didn’t specify that I’m talking about Exeter. The posts above all say that you get large acceptance letters but doesn’t talk about waitlist or rejection letters.

(Does anyone know if the online notifications are posted midnight Eastern Time or midnight all time zones?)
EST!

@cookiemonster - All decisions are confirmed by mailed letters - whether it be acceptance, denial, or waitlist. The online and/or email notifications are for your convenience, but they’ll always be followed by old-fashioned mail.

Does anyone know if “snail mail” is mailed on the 10th or do they try to make it arrive on the 10th?

When you say “online”, do you mean these schools post a listing of accepted students on their websites? If a code or something is required, where/how do you get the code. My d has applied to some of these schools and no one ever gave us a code? Bad sign? Thanks.

aldogirl - Generally, snail mail is mailed in advance of the 10th, so that it will arrive at some destinations by the 10th. But it varies from school to school, as does the time it takes for mail to reach its destination.

finegirl - When decisions are posted online, applicants are sent a username and password in order to access the decision at the school’s website. Depending on the school, these may be sent in a letter or by email, and may be sent to either the parent or the applicant. So, if you haven’t seen anything, first, check your junk mail folder (that’s where they often end up!), and then, if you still don’t have anything, call the schools on Monday or Tuesday and ask.

And no, not having the codes yet doesn’t mean anything - either the school hasn’t sent them yet or they’ve gone astray.

Groton sends notification in this order: Login, Email, then Snail Mail. Groton notifies applicants of their acceptance at 6:00 pm eastern on March 10. Last year the site was down for about 4 hours after 6 pm. I think the servers were overwhelmed, but I wouldn’t skip school on March 10. I didn’t find out about my acceptance till 10 pm eastern time…

Only 5 days, 8 hours, and 31 minutes left!

Groton smart- I was afraid of that- my D is applying for 8th grade and she is SO NERVOUS_ if s e has to keep logging on until 10 she will have a break down! LOL. Any word about the AO team and IT team beefing up the server for this year??? :0)

As I recall from two years ago, all the large envelopes for acceptances arrived on the 10th. We are not far from the NE schools. I don’t know if there are delays for the west coast.

Check your spam folders on the evening of March 10th. Also, add the schools’ admissions offices’ email addresses to your address book–some email programs use address books to filter mail.

Good luck!

I was at the Post Office this morning and they told me that if I wanted to, I could call in the morning on the 10th and they would hold our mail at the PO and I could come get it at around 9am. But, I live in a tiny town and am on a first name basis with all the PO workers and they know that I’ve got one already in BS and one applying. When I went in today, they asked when my D found out and that led to the suggestion above. So if you’re friendly with your postmaster and you can’t wait until the afternoon to get mail, it might be an option.

Anybody know how milton deerfield and andover does it?

Look on the previous page

well excuse me for not wasting 60 seconds of my life :P
