Hi there! I’m an international student. I have applied to fifteen colleges and ultimately got into fourteen of them. Unfortunately, it turned out that none of them were affordable. I’m still waiting to hear back from Vassar, which claims to meet full need, but I won’t hear back from them until the end of March and I can’t afford to put my full hopes just on this possible acceptance.
There is one college which only has a $2500 gap between their original scholarship, my federal loans and my personal contribution. I have politely send them an e-mail to my admission officer, the financial aid office and the international office explaining the situation and that I really want to attend a month ago, and in this month I haven’t gotten any further. The only thing they asked me was if I could find out what the maximum amount of money was I could contribute because they would love to have me there, and afterwards I haven’t received a reply.
Would it be appropriate to send another e-mail to my admissions officer? There are a number of different colleges I could reach out to, but the gap is much bigger there (about 9000 dollars) and I’m not sure if asking would still be of help.
I hope anyone can help!! Thanks
