I got a 680 on CR in SAT I and 690 on Math in SAT I. do you think i should take either math or literature sat IIs or should i try my luck with some other subject?

i'm not sure how similar the literature SAT IIs are to the CR of SAT I, and same with math. what do you think?

I don’t know about literature, but the math is very different. SAT I math is about reasoning and attention to detail; SAT II math is about how good you are at precalc – less tricky but more advanced. Whether that means your score will be significantly different I don’t know; it depends on what your strengths are.

Well, SAT math, imo, is much much harder. You can miss 6 on the math level 2 and still get an 800, where just couple misses on math can be absolutely fatal. The actually material on SAT math, like 112358 told you, requires much more reasoning and a much more focused and prepared mind. If you can get a 690 on SAT I, you should definitely be able to get 740+ on Math II.

Now, I’m sorry to say this, but SAT II literature is HARD. A chap I spoke to who got an 800 on CR ranked them both on a scale of one to ten in hardness. He gave CR a 5/10 and lit a 9/10. So…yeah. The literature test doesn’t mess around.

I’d agree with the statements above. I got an 800 on the critical reading section of the SAT. My first go at the Lit subject test? 600. I just wasn’t prepared for it to be that difficult. :/

I got an 800 on CR and a 790 on Literature. I’ve never taken a Lit course, so it is possible to do it without, but the Literature SAT II was quite a lot harder than the CR. On the other hand, I give it points for being one of the few subject tests you can ace without studying or taking a class. And will people kill me if I say that it was actually pretty fun?
