I've signed up for the SAT II in Biology next week. I haven't really had time to prepare. However, I am in AP biology, and I've been preparing for the AP test on Monday. Will this be sufficient, or are there many major differences between the two tests?

Thanks!

Content is pretty similar. SAT II is more fact based. AP is more overall concept based. (does not mean one is easier than the other)

Prepping for the AP Biology exam will also prepare you for the SAT II, especially if you’re doing in-depth AP prep! :)

I realize this is an extremely ignorant question, but is the SAT II Biology only multiple choice…and how long is it?? Ha, i literally signed up for it the last day possible because, being in AP Bio, I thought I’d be fine, but I have not had a chance at all to prepare yet…which is what i’ve just started today!

Thanks

The SAT II Bio test is absolutely easier. If you take Biology E, the curve allows you to get 7 questions wrong and receive an 800. Obviously, only take this option (you can decide on test day) if you have a good memory of ecology from classes ranging back to middle school.

The highest percentage of questions on the SAT II exam are systems questions- respiratory, cardiovascular, etc. AKA things you should know from AP Bio.

AP Biology is significantly more difficult than Biology SAT II. My AP Biology teacher is amazing, so after the APs she spends half the time reviewing for SAT II and the remaining half playing games. I’d actually recommend that you take Molecular, that’s really what AP Biology covers. It’s not too big on Ecology. And I’m pretty sure M has a more generous curve than E.
