I submitted my application to Tulane today, and I know they have a type of rolling style admissions for their early action. About how fast can I expect an answer, (yes I am aware I only submitted to day, just anxious)? Also how does Tulane submit their decisions to international students, email or mail? Thanks!

The initial decision will be posted on Gibson. That will not contain any information about merit scholarships however. That will only come in a paper copy, by mail. Nothing by email. As far as I know, that is the same for international students.

As far as speed, that is hard to say now. You might hear as soon as two weeks (assuming they have all your information now, not just the application), or it could be December 15. If your school hasn’t sent the rest of your information yet or your SAT scores are not in Tulane’s hands, then of course your application is not complete and so no decision will be possible yet.

If you applied EA or SCEA you will hear by Dec 15, although in the past decisions have been made as early as mid October. Gibson will keep you informed. Check there to see if your application is complete. The decision is posted there as well. I would think it would be the same for an international student as it is for everyone else. The decision in the mail comes about 2 weeks later here in the states, that could take longer overseas.

Last year the first acceptance showed up on CC on Oct. 11. My daughter’s acceptance showed up on Gibson on Oct. 14. She applied SCEA and her app showed complete on Sept. 27. Formal letter with merit aid showed up in mail about 1 week later. Keep calm and carry on - it will be any day now.

Sorry if I sound silly but what is Gibson??

Okay I understand what Gibson is now. I have an email saying thank you for submitting your application, but I have not been given a username and password. Will that just come by email later?

Look at previous emails that you had received from Tulane. I believe they consider the application in 2 parts. When you submitted the first part- a very simple name and address section- they probably sent you the Gibson ID and password.

I think so. If you don’t see it soon, go onto Gibson and click on where it says something like “Lost/forgot username and password” and you can get one sent that way.

I got an email saying thank you for applying and to make sure I send my SAT scores and counsellor section, which I did. I guess I just have to wait for the Gibson info.

Good luck everyone!

@Suomi84 - How long ago did you send in those things?

I sent in my application on Tuesday.

It is possible that my SAT scores have not arrived, but I did rush so they should be there

It takes 2 to 2.5 weeks for Tulane to process your sat or act scores and mark them as received

Has anyone heard back yet? My application has been completed for about a month now, and I still haven’t heard anything!

Someone else said they are beginning to make final decisions next week.

Got my portal information! Thanks for the help @fallenchemist
