How strict is Gateway with too many characters/words?

Happy Thanksgiving to all the in the US.

Starting to look at Parent Essays here.

How strict is Gateway with their maximum characters limit? For example, I was over by 100 characters, but it copied and pasted and saved just fine. It did say in the bottom 100 characters over. Problem is I don’t know if it will send/submit later on?

Thanks.

i don’t think it will tbh. cut it just to be safe IMO. you don’t want it to be half cut when the Ao’s read ur essay.

When our kiddo completed the Gateway application and another system (forget the name), there was a strict cut off. You were unable to type more than allowed word count or character count. This required editing.

That also happened to us. My kid finished the essays, they were proofread. When it was time to submit, there were too many characters. This created a lot of stress. Just conform to the limit to begin with so you won’t have an issue down the line.

Is the character count limit with or without spaces?

We just ran into this two days ago we found that Gateway would not let you add more characters than the max. It cuts off when you click out of the box. To be safe stay within limit.
@SoxFan1918 it is with spaces if using gdoc. if using wordcounter dot net it corresponds with Gateway.
