I just received a significant scholarship for Trinity, and I need some advise on how strong its pre-med program is.

My plan has been to study bioengineering, with a goal to become an MD, but would like to know what relatively similar paths Trinity could offer me.

I am currently planning to attend University of Maryland-College Park for Bioengineering, but this scholarship from Trinity is making me reconsider Trinity as a potential alternative. Plus I am Texas resident.

davinci - thanks for raising your question again. I have seen you ask it before and looked for Trinity parents or students - or maybe even admissions folks - to post some answers, as I have the same question!

Does anyone know if Trinity has a pre-med committee that vets applicants prior to med-school applications? Anyone know what percentage of med school applicants from Trinity get in?

I asked an admissions person about the BA in Bio (as opposed to BS) and they said it is designed for students who want to double major. But that’s as far as I’ve gotten.

Hope someone who knows Trinity pipes up!!

Are pre-meds there supportive of each other?

I would suggest page 3 in the above post. TrinityAlum10 seemed very knowledgeable, as well as willing to answer questions offline. Of course, those were his only two posts, but they seemed informative.

Though we are in the science rather than pre-med camp, it seems that Trinity is currently pursuing a strategy of bringing in talented students. As with most LAC, I expect that the top achievers/workers in the class will have high quality choices upon graduation.
