My daughter is a junior in high school in MN. She would like to go to college in a warmer climate. This week we visited Trinity University in San Anonio, TX. I actually wasn't familiar with them. She found them by doing an intenet search. Turns out, she loves the school. At this point, she eventually would like to go to med school. Can anyone share their experience with Trinity, good or bad? I would ask under colleges, but there isn't any activity under their name. Thanks for any information.

Trinity has an excellent reputation in Texas, and equally good placement into medical school.

Funny, but my daughter went from Texas to college in MN.

We have a family friend who went from Trinity to a fully supported PHD program at UT, and is now well-employed by a major company. We attended the "Trinity in Focus" program this weekend, and really liked it. DS is doing an overnight tonight - so I'll get his impressions tomorrow. I know of several kids who have gone there and loved it. One coworkers daughter had several good internships while there, just graduated, and now is working successfully in the United Kingdom. There are good internships, great undergrad research, 40% study abroad, good med school and grad school placement. Lots of pre-med majors, and very supportive teaching staff with a focus on undergrads (just a few master's students there.) DS will seriously consider it, if financial aid makes it affordable for us.

Trinity is a great school. I have tried to get my Dtr to apply there, but she wants to leave Texas to "explore" (on dad's dime!) Very good reputation in Texas.

San Antonio is a very nice city to live in. All the amenities of a big city and centrally located in the state. The University is also in a good part of town near the famous S.A. Zoo and Breckenridge Park.

I teach medical students (in Houston) and have had several who did their undergrad work at Trinity and they have been well-trained, hard-working and generally in the upper half of the students I interact with. This includes students from WUSTL, Penn, Princeton, Northwestern, UT, Baylor. San Antonio is quite sophisticated medically and has a good med school there. Iy is a UT school, but students at Trinity could probably get some exposure there if they work at it. (I'm not sure about that, just think it is so)

Trinity is a great school. Bright, energetic, goal oriented kids. Caring profs who are willing to go the extra mile for their students. If it's a fit for your daughter, she can't go wrong. When my daughter visited, she was absolutely sure she would hate it, but loved it so much, it was the only school she applied to. Other, similar schools to look at in Texas, Southwestern in Georgetown & Austin College in Sherman.

I have 2 "friends" who ended up going to Trinity (I live in WI right next to MN).

Both seem to be enjoying it, although one has turned into quite the druggy (this is the first 2 months, mind you) and seems to have found quite a party scene.

Beyond this, however, I don't know much, besides the school has a habit of attracting midwesterners.
