what thizz it yall? i stopped posting on this board after I got my appointment. (after I had used yall up like a roll of toothpaste with all n.f.o. and thizz lol0rz j00 funzny0rz)

my question iz:
was there supposed to be a card to send in to accept your appointment? i tryed to follow the list on the back of the "candidates offer admission" booklet.

No, you don't have to bother sending anything in. Just show up on R-Day with your used toothpaste.

Good one momoftwins! LOL

Hehehe. MOT, ching! I think one is enough.

okay- i found the card. but it is kinda konfuzing. romper room thizz

Just send everything in they sent in the admissions packet. Its all very clearly laid out. Do it in order as the booklet states to do them. If you can't find the card that might be because they did not send one. I received mine, but I received a call from my admissions liason making sure I got one as many appointees DID NOT receive the card. They still sent me an extra one since I haven't accepted my appointment yet. Guess they assume I lost it if I didn't respond immediately! Anyhow, if you don't have the card, call them. If you do, DO NOT SEND THE CARD until you are 100% SURE you are going to the United States Military Academy. Make sure you get it out before May 01 or your appointment will be withdrawn.

**This is only a recommendation, but try to spell properly in the forums. I had quite a bit of trouble reading what looked like ghetto slang or something of the sort. We are talking West Point here, we are going pro, so lets talk like pros.

Today, the son got appointed to USMA but without any state nomination. Thus, maybe it was a vp nomination? Anyways, he is going to USNA and that means there is another slot open for another fine young person to USMA. Good luck all.

are you or your son in the military now? is he in jrotc?
i thought vp were for expatriates

"we are going pro, so lets talk like pros"
ha ha ha

VP is a seperate application process you can enter. Tell the USMA asap that you don't want in so they may award your nomination to someone else as well as that appointment. The longer you wait the greater chance that individual that would gladly take the spot will commit somewhere else.

He got it Friday and mailed the rejection Saturday. Also, he got a letter from VP Cheney. kool

ragmanlaw.... yeah- i applied to the veep as well, but i thought all 5 of his go to people who for some reason dont have rep's.

question: if you live in the district of columbia, who nominates you?

Son got nominations from 2 US Senators (one USAFA, one USNA, our congressman (USAFA) and Vice President (USMA)

I believe its 10 nominations, and yes, those are supposed to go to the best candidates who DON'T receive nominations from the proper source. I am suprised, MODADKC. Where do you live? Usually the Senators do not nominate the same individual the other one did.

Congresswoman Norton would be your nomination source in Washington, D.C. I imagine its competive there with all the big wigs, though. But then again, most people commute anyhow from what I understand.

Now heres a question: I have been invited to a reception for USNA appointees with my Senator. I am probably not going to Navy. Do you think it seems sort of wrong to show up?

Missouri is where we live.
