I know this might sound like a dumb question, but I'm interested in applying to SAMS. I'm aware that it's awfully competitive and I've realized that, you know, there's a big chance I won't get in. But it wouldn't hurt to try.

Thing is, I'm not sure how you apply. There's no forms or anything. I know there's that Apply online tab, but what about the teacher recs? Are they just supposed to jot down what they think of you? I sent an e-mail a couple weeks ago, but no response yet. Someone who has applied before, help please!

My D is applying too. Just print out some of the basic information about the SAMS program, along with the webpage and the description of what they want from the teacher rec. Give it to your teachers and they will print out their rec on school letterhead. Have them put the rec in an envelope, seal it and sign the back over the flap. They will give this back to you rather than send it in themselves, as all application materials are supposed to be sent together by you.

p.s. you might also want to bring along a brief resume to give your teachers so that they know your ECs, interests, goals, etc. Let me know if you have any other questions.
