How to avoid making your current school sound bad when applying as a transfer?

At the last college I attended I left because of how poorly my situation was handled. I don’t want to diss my old school because I don’t think it sounds good to talk bad about a school to another school.

The school was very unprofessional but I don’t want to straight out say that. Is there a way to talk about a school messing up without sounding like you’re blaming them? even if the school admitted fault for what happened?

Just like leaving a job or a long term relationship. Class is always the best policy.

“Despite all they had to offer and my high hopes, it just was not a great match for either of us. I’m thankful for that experience, as it has helped me clearly define why Rutgers is uniquely suited for my goals “.

Obviously your words and your story. Just a quick example to get you rowing in the right direction. iMHO.

Do you even need to talk about your old school? You should talk about what the new school offers.

^ Agree with the above. “I would like to attend X school because it sucks less than Y” is not a good reason for X.
